Testing & Analysis
With any new electrical system, especially a heavy duty one, there must be extensive testing and analysis going into it to ensure a safe and functional environment. Moulison Heavy Electrical’s team of foremen and electricians is highly qualified to run a variety of diagnostic analyses for your new system.
Value Engineering Analysis
During the planning and development phase of any project, Moulison Heavy Electrical is able to perform an in-depth analysis to improve function and reduce costs on the front-end of a job. This way, our teams can set the framework for the trajectory of the rest of the project, and ensure it stays within scope, on budget, and on time.
Megger Testing
Moulison’s testing capabilities are industry-leading. Megger testing, or insulation resistance testing, is a method for assessing the integrity of electrical insulation in various types of equipment. A megger, or insulation resistance tester, applies a high voltage while measuring the resulting current flow to test the equipment. We use this type of testing to identify potential insulation breakdowns, moisture and contamination issues, and electrical leakage problems, helping to prevent equipment malfunction or failure.
HIPOT Testing
HIPOT testing, also known as high potential or dielectric voltage withstand testing, is a common technique for testing the insulation integrity of electrical equipment. This type of testing involves exposing the equipment under test to higher-than-normal voltage levels in order to ensure that it can properly withstand and isolate itself from electrical faults and breakdowns. HIPOT testing is essential for ensuring the safety and reliability of electrical equipment, and is often required by regulatory authorities for equipment that operates at high voltages.
Medium and Low Voltage Cable Installation & Testing
Whenever we install a fiber optic cable system or a high voltage cable system, we perform extensive testing to ensure that the environment is functional and safe. For more information about our cable installation services, visit the System Installation page.
